International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) is a non-profit member association representing the worldwide oil and gas drilling industry. IADC engaged Inventure to relocate them from an office space they had inhabited for the last 15 years that no longer reflected their image in the market place.

Inventure’s main goals for the project were to: create a space that reflected IADC’s evolving image; create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for their exclusive member areas; and rethink the organization of the employee areas to support efficiency and employee engagement.

The design team took inspiration from contrasting elements of the drilling industry such as man-made metal drill bits in contrast with organic earth and angular drilling platforms in contrast with the gentle curve of the rolling ocean, and used that vocabulary throughout the space as the element that ties the member facing areas to the employee centric areas. The color palette was kept neutral allowing for “IADC red” to be used throughout to reinforce their brand.
