This expansion/renovation project added a new tower and renovated 108,000 sf to expand the hospital’s capacity by 40 percent.

The Emergency Department featured generous lighting and the liberal use of plants to convey a light, open feeling. Creating “family” space in the NICU was especially important, and a series of warm wood dividers and specialty lighting that change with the daylight were incorporated to acclimate babies to the circadian rhythm, which improves development.
