One of the world’s leading geoscience tech and software companies, DownUnder GeoSolutions (DUG), challenged Inventure to create a high-end office that emphasizes the company’s corporate brand for their new Houston office while maintaining a contemporary design well-suited to their domestic and international clientele.

One of DUG’s requirements was a room to highlight two large cooling towers for their supercomputer, which was important to show their clients. Inventure designed a space divided into a public zone and a private work area. The public zone includes a break room, training room and several meeting rooms. The break room features an in-house barista and a custom espresso-machine in DUG’s signature colors. The private work area, separated by glass doors from the main space, contains workstations and a hoteling area where workers dynamically schedule their use of workspace. Inventure designed a unique, state-of-the-art IT server room to showcase two large cooling towers for the computer room alongside server racks submerged in mineral oil tanks, a method of maintaining temperature control.

Thoughtful consideration of the hexagon and DUG’s specialization in creating seismic processing algorithms and computer hardware solutions gave Inventure the perfect theme for the office design.

Working with the client to enhance their brand and work style realignment align their workplace with their work styles to curates a space that truly reflects the future of McDermott. Strategic use of brand colors, custom-designed workstation and office furniture, and full technology integration set McDermott on a path of sustained growth and employee retention.
