Highland Resources’ headquarters was envisioned as an immersive experience where hospitality, art, and workplace strategy intersect.
The design draws inspiration from the feeling of stepping into a thoughtfully curated hotel lobby — layered, welcoming, and rich with character — while also functioning as a gallery-like backdrop for the company’s extensive art collection. Every space was designed to feel intentional and collected over time, creating an atmosphere that reflects both the legacy of the firm and the personalities behind it.
A key focus of the project was preserving the authenticity of the architecture while elevating the workplace experience through refined detailing and material contrast. Exposed structure and open ceilings highlight the raw framework of the building, grounding the space in an industrial honesty that speaks to the company’s roots. These moments are balanced with warm wood tones, custom millwork, polished stone surfaces, and residential-inspired furnishings that soften the environment and introduce a sense of comfort. The layering of textures and materials creates a workplace that feels sophisticated without losing its edge.
