As the largest private, independent, full-service trust company in the state of Texas, Houston Trust partners with multiple generations of estates across a broad spectrum of asset interests

Houston Trust sought to relocate their offices from Downtown, a space they had occupied for over twenty years, to a location more accessible for their patrons. Set among the historic tree canopies located at the intersection of Buffalo Speedway and Richmond Avenue, the roots of Houston Trust run deep and strong.

This bridge between a robust history and the promising future of the business is reflected throughout the space. Locally sourced stone, hand-selected by founding members of the board, nods to their original home office. A curated collection of artwork interplays with nouveau collaborative lounge spaces. Transitional touches amidst traditionally formal atmospheric design principles (i.e. glass office fronts and views of lush greenery) combine forces to say what the design community is now fully embracing, that is, Health is Wealth.

In a new building, in a first generation build out space, Houston Trust was able to make sustainable decisions to offset the impact of building new.

The design team selected carbon-neutral carpet from Interface, locally sourced stone and glass, reused all existing ancillary furniture from the original office, chose environmentally responsible Arbor Wood Wallcoverings, and specified LED light fixtures. The chosen site of Houston Trust protected historic trees and incorporated a walking track around them for employees to enjoy. The site also provides access to public transportation.

Inventure introduced open and collaborative concepts to a traditionally private and closed off industry.Sophisticated style has been the standard of excellence for financial service firms, but Houston Trust wanted to engage in new work styles.

Traditional finishes were blended with bold colors and fresh, playful patterns providing a space for clients to feel comfortable and confident. qual attention was given to the public and private spaces within the office. The openness of the layout and the warmth of the natural settings were extended to private work areas, the employee break room, and lounge. That dedication to “family” that Houston Trust has for its clients was shared with the team. Inventure designed inviting spaces to encourage people to come together to foster a future generation of employees and clients.
