Located in Houston's Central Business District, the space is organized with private offices, a trading suite, and amenity spaces planned along the building's perimeter. Other program elements include open plan work areas, a variety of collaboration spaces, and support spaces which are all planned adjacent to the building core.
Throughout the space, subtle tones of blue and green paired together with the white-framed transparent glass office fronts create a calming workplace on the 31st floor with the city's skyline as its backdrop. Soft architectural elements like the custom moss wall details at reception and in the open plan work areas connect seamlessly to the beautiful simplicity of the wood millwork detailing throughout, which was inspired by Japanese woodcraft.
Upgraded HVAC systems were integrated into the project's design from the beginning, with additional preventative layers being developed as the project progressed, all the way through to the furniture solution. With the clever application of the furniture system kit-of-parts customized for JERA along with detailed planning, the client's desired level separation between individual seats was achieved without sacrificing additional real estate or minimizing visibility across the floor; all together a solution ensuring the maximum future flexibility and reconfigurability for JERA's workplace.
