Occupying 63,000 square feet across three full floors of Midway's East River development, the project aimed to consolidate Orion's three Houston offices, including its headquarters into one unified presence at the heart of east river.
Orion sought to foster growth and creativity and contribute to the new East River community. As an early tenant, their presence reinforces the district’s appeal to forward-thinking companies and its emergence as a hub for maritime-linked industries.
Our team’s goal was to transform a white-boxed shell into a space that reflects Orion's culture, values, and the work they do every day. As an expert in construction and engineering, Orion’s teams poured the concrete for the buildings they now occupy—a unique opportunity that became central to the design story. Inventure celebrated that craftsmanship through exposed concrete surfaces, intentional use of structural materials, and custom detailing throughout the space.
Equally important was creating a space that felt accommodating to everyone who entered—from field crew to company executives. The design needed to strike a balance of professional, accommodating, and approachable. This idea shaped the material selections, furniture, and spatial planning, to reinforce this across all levels of the organization
Orion stands out for its combination of bold industrial authenticity with modern workplace design. The new space encourages collaboration and productivity with hubs such as large break rooms, a work lounge, and various meeting areas. The use of Orion's signature blue branding and dark walls throughout the space provides a cohesive identity. Custom signage and branding, including wall graphics and artwork that highlight Orion's work served as the unifying thread that brought the entire project to life.
